ERRC ambulance during the Hill Climb event in Xaghra
On Sunday 15 May, the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps offered Ambulance Service during the Second Round of the 2011 ICC Championship in Xaghra. For the session more than 60 competitors took part.
E.R.R.C. Areal Runway Event for children during Puttinu Cares Activities
More abseiling and areal runway events are being organised by the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps.
During the annual Dwejra Fair organised by the San Lawrenz Local Council, E.R.R.C. volunteers set up an areal runway for children. A similar Areal Runway event for children was set up in Sannat to raise funds for Puttinu Cares.
Today, an abseiling and areal runway event was organised to aroung twenty five Sixth Form students in Gozo.
Both events were a success. Similar events will be offered in Malta and Gozo. Anyone interested in such events is welcome to contact us.
Festa Familja 2011 Poster
Yesterday, the Diocese of Gozo joined the rest of the world and organised Festa Familja at the Gozo Sports Complex in Victoria. It was an event to foster more the values of families.
For this event the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps volunteers were present with the Corps Ambulance.
The E.R.R.C. Bicycle Response Unit
Yesterday, the Gozo Amateur Athletic Association (GAAA) collaboration with the Malta Amateur Athletic Association, the Xaghra Local council and the Ministry for Gozo held the 36th edition of the Gozo Half Marathon.
For this event, the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps carried out first aid, ambulance service and, for the first time, deployed the Bicycle Response Unit (BRU). The Bicycle Response Unit is a new branch of E.R.R.C. whcih offers first aid service during fun walks, bicycle activities, and other social activiites where first aid service cannot be covered with an ambulance.
Throughout the Gozo Half Marathon, five E.R.R.C. volunteers formed the Bicycle Response Unit. This year's Gozo Half Marathon was in aid of Puttinu Cares.
The Dream Poster
On Saturday 7 May, a number of E.R.R.C. volunteers successfully carried out rope work in 'The Dream' at Aurora Theatre. 'The Dream' is a dance show produced by Naupaca Dance Academy and the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps was approached to offer its help in its coreography.
During some acts, E.R.R.C. used its rope work expertise to elevate ballerinas off the stage to enhance the special effects of the dance show to defy the law of gravity. E.R.R.C. volunteers had to attend to several rehearlals to synchronise rope work with the dance show.
E.R.R.C. Mother's Day Bazaar
On Saturday 7 May, the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps fund raising committee organised a Mother's Day Bazaar in Victoria.
In the bazaar there were a wide selection of plants for sale, which in for sure the ideal gift for Mother's Day.
E.R.R.C. is a voluntary non profit organisation and all contributions are invested in more equipment and volunteers' training to better cater for our societies needs.
